Day Six...

Day Six...in the KPA slum...
phrase of the past two days....ministry of presence...we hope this congregation is boosted by our presence....

The conditions.....
sure they are clean....
being servants to the team....washing the mud, nastiness, and whatever animal grossness you can imagine from our shoes...

PS...Craig only showed his good side today...

Day Five....

Day Five...but Day one in KPA...not exactly the palace we had grown used to in Kibera.....
The day started by getting stuck in the mud....and having to walk all of our chairs and equipment through the rest of the mud.....

Some new and "exciting" challenges....
....watch where you step with that sharp object that pulls teeth from your skull....
...watch out for the random cow walking through the clinic.....
...but within the yuck....there was some beauty....

Last clinic day tomorrow....

PS....this past weekend way too many people touched Craig's shorts!!!!

Day Four....

Our Last Day at the Kibera Slum....

With no school in session...which led to more kid patients...which means...do SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T FREAK THEM OUT....
It resulted in much happier patients.....
finally a team picture...taken after a moment that no one in this picture probably can explain with words....
Happy Birthday Don!!!!

Tomorrow is a day of exploring Nairobi....Stayed tuned to the move to KPA slum...

PS...Craig likes phalanges

Day Three....

The Kenyan dentists "supervising"......and learning an awful lot....
oxymoron....toothbrush and coke in each hand....

we can't get away from "GREEN" leaders....

who knows what our last day in Kibera will hold before we move to KPA

PS....our team has created a new language ....CRAIGHILE ;-)

First work day!

What a great start. We observed the members of Spring of Life Lutheran Church witness to the over 100 people who came for dental care. About 10% asked that the Pstor contact them. We could all learn from these African Christians on how to witness boldly and unafraid.
Also inspiring were our team members who should such love and compassion to those undurgoing an extraction (there were 65 teeth pulled today). And the teachers were a big hit at the church's Pre-K to 2nd grade school. There were over 100 kids singing and having a wonderful time. God is good, our teammates are amazing and we are looking forward to more of the same tomorrow. Don & Rosalie
